Field Service deployment process generally consists of four parts:
Field Service security roles:
- Field Service - Resource
Frontline workers.
Can only read and update work orders assigned to them.
- Field Service - Administrator
IT administrator or service managers.
Full access.
- Field Service - Dispatcher
Scheduler
Edit and assign work orders to frontline workers.
- Field Service - Inventory Purchase
Inventory managers
Full access for Inventory-related entities within specific business unit
- IoT - Administrator
IT administrators and service managers
Full access to IoT-related entities.
- IoT - Endpoint User
Used by Microsoft to connect D365 to IoT systems.
